It’s so amusing when your neighbor stands outside all day in the rain watching the work we’re having done on our house - just to make sure the guys don’t accidently step onto his “made up” property line. Of course that line is much more generous when I have to mow the lawn.
Neighbors…
I hate jokes/photos that are like, “Guess what you’re adopted!” and it’s a photo of a child crying. To me, that’s not funny at all—it’s insensitive and rude.

What’s your take on it?
ksjewels: Insulting - The joke is “Hey you’re adopted!” And the kid is sobbing. Even though it is supposed to be a joke, it doesn’t make me laugh.
Warning this will be a vent
Dear adoptive parents,
It is great that you are adopting, it really is. But the minute you think the process is the same on both ends, you lose my respect. Being adopted is a life long state of being. It is not something you did, is is something you are.
Got 4 giant boxes packed tonight! Only a few hundred or so left to go!!! Regardless, YAY for progress!! :)
Adoption today is trumpeted today as a universal good thing. For infertile couples who wish to have a family, it is a solution. For religious organizations and fellow-travelers, agencies that use the cover of religion, it is a business. For liberals who want to do good and keep the sense of family about them, it is a way to keep population growth down. Celebrities adopt and get on the cover of magazines, thus encouraging ever more people to raise other people’s children.
